“Today thou shalt be with me in paradise” (Lk 23:43). Christ spoke the word of salvation – ‘Today’. Yes, salvation is always ‘today.’ “I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (II Cor 6:2). “As the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil art of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But, exhort one another daily, while it is called today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin” (Heb 3:7-13).
Child of God, when the Lord speaks to you, respond immediately. Jesus told Zacchaeus, “today I must abide at thy house” and he made haste and came down and received him joyfully! (Lk 19:5,6). Jesus wants to come into your life TODAY. Make haste and receive Him and His blessings today.
The penitent thief hanging on the cross had no further opportunities, but you and I do, while it is still called, “Today”. Be baptised (by immersion in water) by an anointed minister, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (with the sign of speaking in new tongues).
Join a spirit-filled assembly led by consecrated servants of God and learn how to live the life of the kingdom of God. Then you can join the great throng of the redeemed and sing the high praises of our glorious Redeemer:
“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine,
O what a foretaste of glory divine,
Heir of salvation, purchase of God;
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood!”
